Film Training / Courses Liverpool & Merseyside

At Cottonfield Films, we believe in “hands-on” learning – people learn best and quickest when they are actually doing the tasks themselves. The young people on our courses are encouraged to take full part in all aspects of film production to produce work they can truly call their own.

Below is a selection of films made by young people aged 11 - 24 on our courses.

If your organisation is interested in working with us, then please contact us.

The Creeps

These four short films were made by young people participating in a multi-media art project with the Plaza Community Cinema, in partnership with Cottonfield Films CIC, funded by Children In Need.

We asked them the question; "What gives you the creeps?" and the participants experimented with creative writing, music, film, collage, animation and special effects to express their fears...

Changing Face

We taught a film course at St George Of England school, in partnership with Ykids.

The young people on the course produced a documentary about the Klondyke area of Bootle, which had been derelict for 10 years, interviewing local residents and finding out how it was affecting them, their families and friends.

This project was funded by First Light.

Sound Promo Version

This is a shortened, promotional version of the film Sound, which was produced on the Amplifi Channel project for the MDA, about the music scene in Liverpool. The full version is 35 minutes long.

This version was shown at the Amplifi launch event at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool.

Congratulations to all the young people who took part.
